Those who attain these powers through penance become Siddhars. Through this, these deities and divine forms have been consecrated.
People gather knowledge in various states of mind – yet, in those same states, they commit sins through their way of life, becoming trapped in suffering, pain, diseases, and sorrow, leading to mental distress. To provide solutions and bear their sins, Siddhar Korakkar steps forward. Through him, these eight consecrated forms (Ashtama Pratishtai), imbued with the five elements (Pancha Bhutas) and various cosmic energies, have been ritualistically consecrated – using sacred vessels (Kuduvai) and yantras – as per the Navapashana method. Through this, each divine form rectifies human character according to individual virtues, enabling them to live righteously in this world fully transforming karmic sins, uniting them with divine grace through devotion, and attaining a life of supreme bliss. Additionally. the virtues (Gunas) of the eight deities are also consecrated within them.
Lord Shiva created all living beings in the world to the extent of dissolving Himself completely into everything. He declared to all realms: “One family, One God.” In this, He created grass, plants, worms, trees, various animals, birds, reptiles, stones, and five-sensed beings. But none of the created beings admired the His form or felt His presence. Therefore, in divine evolution, He became a living entity with self-aware wisdom. He created man and woman in physical form, instilled with the sixth sense of reasoning, in addition to the five senses. Initially, He sent 15 men and 15 women into this world. The humans, however, were ignorant and didn’t know how to live on earth. So, He gave them teachings and visions, lived among them as Parama shiva and trained them as a Guru, mother, and father in all aspects of life. However, since humans were created including the five senses, it took many years for the sixth sense of reasoning to function. The 5 senses exist in animals. Only humans possess the additional sense of reason/discrimination. Therefore, in addition to enjoying the world He created, we should live our life joyfully – with our parents, spouse, children, and profession – and return to Him, merging into His being.
Unaware of this truth, people became entangled in the five aspects of life and were enveloped by illusion. To guide them, the Siddhars were sent as Gurus, teachers, and healers.. During the time of Lord Parashiva, the Siddhars explained the practical ways of awakening the sixth sense of wisdom using the Aasivaga Siddha tradition of worship and practice.. In this lineage, as the second genetic form of Lord Shiva, Lord Murugan came to be among human. The five Siddhas exercised good governance by providing the people with the necessary food, professions, the Tamil language for communication, and first aid for joyful living. Lord Murugan also has the name Pandya King. “Pa Andiyars” means God is supreme and all are His children and from this Pandyan derives its meaning. Therefore, it should be understood that everyone in our world is a Pandyan. Even during the time of Lord Murugan, he researched and gave many things as gifts, included among them were bullock carts, boats, airplanes, trains, temples, load-lifters, telephones, laptop and computers. Flying large/ hydrogen balloons were invented by him. It’s deceptive to believe that these were invented by the westerners. Everything is a gift that Shiva has given us. While there is much more that can be said, I conclude this true history in briefly.
Later, Krishna ruled. Then Indra and Ravana ruled. Then Vishnu ruled us – all these gods ruled well. However, while we were all living like this, among our people, a dishonest and harsh nature sprouted in some people – this included anger, jealousy, deceit, the tendency to turn everything into their own, and corrupted knowledge. Due to these bad qualities, they began to usurp the freedom and human rights given to us by the Gods. The Siddhars had consecrated temples and idols with the qualities of the gods, so that in times of distress, we could turn to the temple for solutions – by appropriately using the consecrated yantras, sacred vessels (kuduvai), and Siddha method of worship (siddha samaya valipadu). Knowing that these tools are powerful, the vested interests first targeted our temples so that their deceit could succeed. The yantras and sacred vessels were systematically destroyed or removed (sometimes ostensibly reinstalled under the guise of Kumbhabhishekam), lacquer/wax was applied over mere stone idols, leaving the temples ruined so that we could no longer worship properly or fully access our gods. Therefore, to rectify this, siddhars like Bogar, Pulipani, and Gorakkar took birth in the human form, and worked to complete this consecration.
The purpose of this consecration is to dissolve the five forms of knowing/sense in humans and establish the sixth sense of reasoning. And we bear your sins. This consecration (Beeja Pratishtai) has been performed so that you live with perfect wisdom, knowledge, wealth, courage, and great bliss. On completion, a ceremony will be held and this temple (and the methods of Aasivaga Siddha Samaya Valipadu) will be offered to the people. After that, I will move towards attainment of Jeeva Samadhi.
Humans born in this world live without knowing what Karma truly is. The reason they do not understand Karma and sins is because they become enslaved to personal pleasures. In their pursuit of individual freedom, they try to change and shape their lives for pleasures – resulting in a human life unaware of how they sin. Structuring their lives in this manner after birth, they pave the way to live as souls who do not understand why God created them. We were born in this world to righteously experience all that has been created here – food, health, lifespan and the 5 aspects of life (i.e. 1. Parents 2. Spouse (Husband/Wife) 3. Children 4. Profession and 5. God). People no longer know how to live and experience these five aspects of life in accordance with divine laws, and attain liberation from the cycle of birth and death (Mukti). Even if people understand this in a spiritual discourse or gathering, they forget it and again get entangled.
Korakkar siddhar once discussed this among the 18 Siddhars and Lord Shiva, and asked what the solution for this would be. Shiva said “If someone is willing to bear the sins committed by humans, then I will grant their wishes, purify their minds, activate their sixth sense (higher wisdom), help them live righteously, and grant them liberation (Moksha)”. To fulfill this in this world, the three Siddhars – Bogar, Pulippani, and Gorakkar – took birth in the human form and consecrated this Ashtama Siddhi Pratishtai. All three of them attained Jeevasamadhi in this. When people enter this sacred space their Karma and sins are drawn into the idol of Korakkar. The idol of Korakkar was consecrated to serve as the one who bears these sins. At the base of this statue, Siddhar Korakkar attained samadhi to remove the karma and sins from your life so that you may receive the complete grace of Lord Shiva, live well and ultimately attain Mukti – “My purpose is fulfilled by paving the way for you to attain Mukti with God”
